This neighborhood, fondly known as “The Banana Belt” is approximately 5 miles east of downtown Truckee is a great place to call home. An established community, it includes a clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, and its very own picturesque Glenshire Pond. Families know it also boasts one of the most requested elementary schools in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District.
Surrounded by nature’s best, Glenshire/Devonshire is a wonderful place for kids and adults to explore outdoors, with great open spaces and hiking trails. The Truckee River and downtown Truckee are easily accessed by the new extension of the paved and bike-friendly Truckee Legacy Trail (which I am on daily). Glenshire residents who love to water ski, mountain bike, fish, and raft will find easy access to Boca and Stampede Reservoirs. This neighborhood, although close to Truckee, also offers direct access to Reno. Lots range in size from approximately ¼ acre to an acre, and a number of them allow for horses. Conveniently located nearby is a small commercial center with a wonderful market (I find plenty of organics), one of my Coldwell Banker offices, a hair salon, and pet shop/groomer.
